ABOUT US
HOW IT ALL STARTED...
I grew up in a family where disagreement wasn't unusual. With five siblings whose political views spanned nearly every point on the spectrum, spirited debate was simply part of life. We didn't always agree, but we learned that people are far more complicated than political labels.
That experience made one moment especially memorable.
Years ago, someone told me that because I was gay, I couldn't also be conservative. If I didn't embrace a particular political worldview, I was told I was betraying my own community.
I had never heard anything like it.
To me, being gay described my sexuality—not my politics, my values, or my identity. I couldn't understand why one personal characteristic was expected to dictate every opinion I held.

That conversation changed the direction of my life.
Not because it changed my political beliefs, but because it made me curious about how so many people had come to believe that disagreement was a form of betrayal. I immersed myself in American history, political philosophy, economics, and public policy, trying to understand not just what people believed, but why.
The more I learned, the more convinced I became that our biggest problem wasn't a lack of information. It was a culture that increasingly rewarded certainty, tribalism, and outrage over curiosity, humility, and common sense.
That's why I created Common Sense.
Not to tell people what to think.
Not to defend one political team.
But to help Americans think more clearly about politics, media, and power.
Because no one should ever be told that their race, religion, sexuality, or background determines what they're allowed to believe. Healthy societies are built by free people willing to question assumptions, challenge ideas—including their own—and judge one another by character rather than labels.
Politics is a tool. It should never become your identity.

CHAD LAW
Chad Law is an entrepreneur, author, and host of Common Sense with Chad Law, a media platform dedicated to helping Americans develop a healthier relationship with politics, media, and power.
After building, scaling, and successfully exiting his marketing agency, Chad spent more than two decades leading growth, digital transformation, and consumer marketing initiatives for founder-led businesses, startups, global brands, and Fortune 100 companies. His career has centered on solving complex business problems by translating complexity into practical action—the same approach he now brings to public policy and current events.
A lifelong student of American government, history, economics, and political philosophy, Chad combines extensive independent research with a marketer's ability to explain complicated issues in ways that are clear, engaging, and accessible. His philosophy is simple: challenge assumptions, follow the evidence wherever it leads, and remember that politics is a tool—not an identity.
Known for blending thoughtful analysis with humor and common sense, Chad believes the goal isn't to tell people what to think, but to help them think more clearly. Through his podcast, books, editorials, and public speaking, he works to build a broader coalition of Americans who value reality over tribalism, curiosity over certainty, and principles over partisanship.
When he's not researching or recording, Chad can usually be found outdoors with his spaniel mix, Reagan, continuing his search for common sense in an increasingly complicated world.
